From
the Desk: Every month for 27
years, we, at Betrock Information Systems, have been publishing the well-known
magazine PlantFinder®. Over
the years, through intensive research, we have also published many horticultural
reference books, other magazines, and more recently another PlantFinder®
serving the West Coast of the United States: PlantFinder
West®. Our site is currently being visited by over 25,000 users each month (23.6% from outside the United States) and these figures are growing every day. It is clear that more and more people are looking to us for information, references and guidance in this industry. International trade, the Internet, email facilities and cell phone communications have made this world a much smaller place. We can easily imagine how small it will get in future years with the new technological developments we see almost on a daily basis. It is obvious that the horticultural industry must be involved internationally to remain competitive. We must go beyond the day-to-day operations, get involved in an endless forward-thinking mode in order to become active participants of the upcoming horticultural facelift. Our goal is to support and encourage the growers and suppliers worldwide to let the U.S. horticultural industry know what they have to offer, therefore stimulating a global presence in the United States, and a strong U.S. presence in the foreign markets. This can be accomplished through advertising in our monthly magazines, advertising not only in the form of display ads, but also in the form of product listings. These listings are updated monthly, and also appear in our site www.hortworld.com and our popular software programs, PlantFinderPlus and the LandScheduler. Our participation to many American trade shows each year, IPM in Essen, Germany, several horticultural Trade Missions to various countries like Italy and France, and the 7th Hortiflorexpo, Shanghai - China is designed to meet producers worldwide, learn new procedures and new market strategies, listen to the horticultural professionals' needs and offer solutions through our current publications for a better, wider international trade between the United States and the horticultural communities throughout the world. Whether you participate to trade shows in your country or abroad, we would like to raise your interest in our publications and encourage you to advertise your products in our monthly magazines in order to increase your presence in the worldwide horticultural arena. We are planning to
nurture our relationships with SUSTA,
and SNA. Feel free to call upon us for further questions or additional information. Sincerely,
